Luca Marino-Baker joined New Mexico TechWorks for a free website-building workshop and created a website for his business, Bow Wow Haus, that creates uniquely designed doggy/cat-doors in a variety of forms. Name: Luca Marino-Baker Where were you born? Santa Fe, NM Where do you live now? Santa Fe, NM Phone: 505.309.1303 What project did you build a website for? Bow Wow Haus Was this your first time building a website, what platform did you use? Square Space, Weebly, WIX, Wordpress, other? It was, Squarespace What features do you like about that platform? Ease of use and offers good templates to work with. What are the benefits for building, launching, and managing your own website? I don't have to pay someone else to do it and since I have a startup, only I really understand my website needs at this point. What advice would you give to someone contemplating building a website? I would definitely start with Wix or Squarespace, but make sure you understand about email integration and the needs of your website as opposed to being attracted to a template that just looks really good. How will you promote your website? I direct people I meet to it, but linking it to allied designers and collaborators will increase the traffic on all of our sites. Is there anything else you would like to share about your project? Not at this time. Your tutorial helped a lot in getting me to dive into resources that are available like Wix and demonstrated how easy it was to work with them once I got over the initial confusion of how to do it.
