Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference is a dynamic conference to encourage girls in 5th-8th grade to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by providing women STEM role models and hands-on workshops.
Highlights from last year’s conference:
It was attended by 168 girls from diverse backgrounds,
65% of them were from underrepresented groups in STEM including
Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and students of mixed ethnicity.
87 adult volunteers worked to make this event successful
including the workshop presenters and the STEM fair participants.
This conference is often a once in a life-time opportunity for girls to engage with female role models working in STEM professions.
